In The Beginning
It all started back in high school, it was 10th grade. I wanted to get into longboarding. Longboarding would give me the freedom I wanted without the need for a car. In high school, I didn’t have any money. So I had to find ways to do so without a job. I had experience doing fundraisers, which gave me the idea, but as a child, my mother didn’t teach me how to talk to people and tell them about my cause. That was something I had to learn for myself.
What I did learn
I was taught that hard work pays off, but physical labor, cutting grass was wearing me down. I wanted to do something that I actually enjoyed doing. At that time I loved video games and art. I would draw most of the time and spend my time alone after school improving my skills. The better I got, the more people stopped to look at my work and leave a few kind words or be mind blown. So what I then discovered through the use of the internet was that I could get fee stickers from the postal service. So I started my own business selling my hand drawn stickers. Along with that business, I began making paracord bracelets. Once I got good, that got me my longboarding parts and accessories and my business began to fund itself. I would have money to go buy things during my long skate trips.
Once I graduated Highschool, I went to college, and my businesses had not come with me. So instead of regular income that I earned, I had scholarships given to me. That was more money than I had ever “earned” so far. I ended up doing what I wanted and relied on it. I then got a job because I figured what I used to do was no longer viable (It was, I just didn’t know how to stick with it). This was a good thing because if I hadn’t, I wouldn’t be speaking to you now.
Jobs can suck
Jobs can suck but are a reliable source of income that you can afford the things you want or need. It was much easier than having to talk to people and actually do things. I had got comfortable with this and didn’t feel the need to do anything else. It wasn’t until I wanted to live off campus that I realized that I needed to make more money. Having a steady income began to suck due to the fact that it would not increase by much if at all. I quickly realized that I would have to start working more to afford the things I wanted and needed.
What happened next
While searching for more ways to make money, I discovered there were many ways and the amount of money I could make had no cap! I’m now beginning to be able to enjoy the fruits of my labor, but I will keep moving forward. Currently, I still a student, work 2 part-time jobs, and building 3 businesses and still have enough time to give back to those around me. Learning to affiliate marketing has opened so many opportunities for me.
